Shed blood for Imam Hussain (as) Empty Shed blood for Imam Hussain (as)

Post by azadaar110 Sun Jun 13, 2010 4:25 am

Imam Jafar Sadiq says, "You should shed your blood for Imam Hussain (as)
(at least) once in your life. People do not know the status of the
blood that is shed for Imam Hussain (as). They will know its status on
the Day of Judgement when one drop of this blood will be Noorani
(lightened) so that the Prophets (as) will be amazed, and they will ask,
"O Allah, what kind of Noor (light) is this, which is overshining our
Noor (light)? And who are these people?" There will be a voice saying,
"This is the Noor (light) of the blood which has been shed for My
Hussain (as)"

Salaam Aalikum,

“Regarding Imam Zainul Abideen it has been narrated: In his time, years after Karbala, a discussion had come up which led onto talking about the blood-filled tragedy and his great father, and his father’s respected head, and when he (4th Imam) heard these memories, the following occured:

قام على طوله و نطح جدار البيت بوجهه، فكسر انفه، و شج رأسه، و سال دمه على صدره، و خر مغشياً عليه من شدة الحزن والبكاء.

That means, he stood erect (like a soldier) and he smashed his head to the wall of the house, and the effect of such a hit caused his nose and head to break and blood gushed down his head and face, and poured onto his chest, and from the intensity of his crying and wails and grief, he fell unconscious.”

This is recorded in the farsi book شعائر حسینی: چرا و چگونه؟

But that book originally recorded it from: دارالسلام ج2 ص179 Darul Salaam vol.2 page.179

isnt the fact that the imam (as) cried tears of blood for the rest of his life - not just on ashura but every day - enough proof?

For Halalis, YES!, but "other people" want proofs, which is why we quote these Ahadees.

It is always good to have the proof of where the Imam (as) have stated something as that shows it is not your personal 'opinion' and can be traced back to the Imam (as).

The problem is half of these hadith that are Quoted do not have any referances what so ever. Crying is one thing, but to cut your self is another. People always give the example of Owais Qarni yet he was not a masoom , but then on the other hand when people are told they should do Taqleed they will say " We should not follow a none masoome" but on the other hand they will follow Owais Qarni as a proof. Never the less two masoomes where present when the prophet (saw) tooth been broken but neither of them broke their teeth. Can somone show me a single hadith where the Aima (as) did zanjeer or Tatbir?
