Umar (RA) or (LA)?
Volume 7, Book 70, Number 573:
Narrated Ibn 'Abbas:
When Allah's Apostle was on his death-bed and in the house there were some people among whom was 'Umar bin Al-Khattab, the Prophet said, "Come, let me write for you a statement after which you will not go astray." 'Umar said, "The Prophet is seriously ill and you have the Qur'an; so the Book of Allah is enough for us." The people present in the house differed and quarrelled. Some said "Go near so that the Prophet may write for you a statement after which you will not go astray," while the others said as Umar said. When they caused a hue and cry before the Prophet, Allah's Apostle said, "Go away!" Narrated 'Ubaidullah: Ibn 'Abbas used to say, "It was very unfortunate that Allah's Apostle was prevented from writing that statement for them because of their disagreement and noise."
Along with the many other hadiths that can be found in the books of the Ahle Sunnah,. We see many things from this hadith, however I would just like to highlight that this is where the Ahle Quran school of thinking came from, had not Umar said, 'the Quran is enough for us' we wouldnt have another sect in Islam.
Even though the Prophet (saw) was on his death bed, it is Wajib upon the ummah to obey him, till his last breath, it is for this reason we find in the holy Quran(24: 54) 'Obey Allah, and obey the Messenger: but if ye turn away, he is only responsible for the duty placed on him and ye for that placed on you. If ye obey him, ye shall be on right guidance'
So therfore by obeying the Prophet you are in Gudiance and then those who disobey are in misgudiance. Also it is for this very reason that Allah (swt) says in the Holy Quran (49.2) 'O ye who believe! Raise not your voices above the voice of the Prophet, nor speak aloud to him in talk, as ye may speak aloud to one another, lest your deeds become vain and ye perceive not.' So therfore Umar went directly against Allah (swt) orders himself, his actions resulted in his deeds becoming null. Can you show me any hadith even If it is weak, where the holy Prophet (saw) allowed umar back In his house after he was told to get out? or where his actions will not be accountable according to Quran as well.
The one who makes you angry (or hates you) by saying you have no children, or mocks you, insults you, or ridicules you he will be destroyed and ruined (in this life and the hereafter) [Quran 108]
Did Umar Insult the holy Prophet (saw) by calling him delirious?, what will be his postion according to the above verses (RA) or (LA)?

Re: Umar (RA) or (LA)?
I will go with Umar (LA)....consider the following hadith (with Sunni refs):
إن كانَ رَفضاً حُبُّ آلِ مُحمَّدٍ ** فَليشهَدِ الثقلان أنِّي رَافِضي
================================
When Umar came to the door of the house of Fatimah, he said: "By Allah, I shall burn down (the house) over you unless you (Ali) come out and give the oath of allegiance (to Abu Bakr)."
Sunni References:
...- History of Tabari (Arabic), v1, pp 1118-1120
- History of Ibn Athir, v2, p325
- al-Isti'ab, by Ibn Abd al-Barr, v3, p975
- Tarikh al-Kulafa, by Ibn Qutaybah, v1, p20
- al-Imamah wal-Siyasah, by Ibn Qutaybah, v1, pp 19-20
So Umar felt it alright to go to the house of Bibi Fatima(as) and Imam Ali(as) and speak like this? He actually threated them with violence!!!!! OMG!!!!
