looking at ali asws is ibaadat

we find in majma-uz-zawaid

14694- عن عبد الله – يعني ابن مسعود – أن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم قال‏:‏
‏”‏النظر إلى علي عبادة‏”‏‏.‏

رواه الطبراني وفيه أحمد بن بديل اليامي وثقه ابن حبان وقال‏:‏ مستقيم
الحديث، وابن أبي حاتم وفيه ضعف، وبقية رجاله رجال الصحيح‏.‏

holy prophet said that looking at ali is ibaadat

hafiz hathmi says that the narrators are narrators of sahih except for
ahmad, but he is in thiqat of ibn habban

but this hadeeth is supported by another chain, and that is the next one

14695- عن طليق بن محمد قال‏:‏ رأيت عمران بن الحصين يحد النظر إلى علي،
فقيل له فقال‏:‏ سمعت رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم يقول‏:‏ ‏”‏النظر إلى
علي عبادة‏”‏‏.‏

رواه الطبراني وفيه عمران بن خالد الخزاعي وهو ضعيف‏.‏

here we see that imran has been termed daif, but this hadeeth is the
shahid hadeeth on the previous chain.
